Detroit Gospel.com is the first and only website dedicated to providing comprehensive coverage of the Metropolitan Detroit gospel music and entertainment scene. It is designed as a one-stop online resource for gospel entertainment enthusiasts in metro-Detroit and around the globe. It was launched the first day of Black History Month, February 1, 2004, and not only provides timely and topical gospel entertainment information, but offers today's generation a look at Detroit's rich gospel history.Detroit has long been known as a hot-bed of gospel music, but surprisingly, before Detroit Gospel.com's launch, there was no online resource chronicling Detroit's gospel entertainment scene. While there are several well-done websites that focus on the national gospel scene, they simply cannot provide the local coverage of Detroit Gospel.com. There are also several well-done local Christian-oriented websites, but none of these focus on the gospel music and entertainment scene in Detroit. Local coverage on the website includes an events calendar, local industry information, a comprehensive (and growing) profile list of Detroit gospel artists, a history of Detroit gospel, and interviews with local gospel entertainment artists who have achieved national prominence and up-and-coming artists looking for their big break. For those visitors who subscribe online, there is also an e-mail newsletter sent monthly.
Detroit Gospel.com also provides content that addresses the lifestyle needs of gospel enthusiasts. The site includes parenting tips, health and fitness, answers to spiritual questions, and other information of interest.
Detroit Gospel.com is the brainchild of Mary Lynne and Keith Crosby, founders of website design company, FruitfulWorks, Inc. The Crosbys were each born and raised in Detroit and have a great love for the city, gospel music, and for God. The Crosbys felt led to use their computer technology and evangelistic backgrounds to pursue their interests in web design and gospel music, while benefiting the body of Christ. Detroit Gospel.com is the result of that desire. It is the Crosbys hope that this website will be a blessing to gospel lovers in metro-Detroit and throughout the world.
