Renee'

Reneé is a graduate of Cass Technical High School in Detroit. She attended Wayne State University and is a graduate of Specs Howard School of Broadcasting. Attending Specs Howard led to her working for Gospel station AM 1340 WMUZ for almost ten years. She also works  independently as a gospel entertainment producer. As a result of her work in gospel, Reneé brings a wealth of knowledge about the national gospel entertainment scene and is grateful and excited about the opportunity to share with the New York Gospel.com community. Reneé's goal is to ultimately produce a christian television show. She considers her work in gospel entertainment as her career and her ministry and prays that God will anoint her to bless many people. Reneé is also active in her church, St. Paul A.M.E. Zion (Dr. Derrick R. Anderson, Pastor), where she sings in the choir and teaches Sunday School. She loves the Lord and thanks God for her Mom and her family and friends who are her prayer partners.

Renee' sits down with Detroit's own Darius Twyman.

In June 2007, DetroitGospel.com sat down with Vanessa Bell Armstrong to talk about her illustrious career and her decision to undergo gastric bypass surgery. Check out the video clip of what Detroit's own gospel diva had to say...

DG.com: Hi Kierra! It’s a pleasure to do this interview with you. Do you remember how old you were when you started singing?
Sheard: I don’t remember how old I was.

DG.com: Did you want a singing career or did you have other aspirations?
Sheard: When I was younger, I was pretty much into doing everything. I was into doing nails. I wanted to do your hair. I wanted to play basketball. I was cheerleading. I was doing some of everything. I realized after I got older and as I became more involved in church and realized what Christ was all about, what ministry was all about.

Steve Harvey was in town for the Red Carpet premiere of his new movie, “Don’t Trip…He Ain’t Through With Me Yet,” at the Star Theater in Southfield. Detroit’s "who’s who" were in the house as Steve Harvey’s friends and well-wishers got a private screening of the comedian’s latest movie.

CeCe Winans is a card-carrying member of gospel music’s first family, the Winans. Together with her brother, BeBe, and alone, CeCe has won numerous Dove and Stellar Awards. So many so, that even she’s lost count. She has shared her music ministry with audiences around the globe, and after 20 years in the gospel music industry, she has not lost focus or the passion for what she does. I recently had the privilege of interviewing her at Justin’s Music in Detroit as she tours the country promoting her latest CD.
Detroit Gospel.com was in the house for the world premiere of the new movie, "The Gospel." "The Gospel" has a strong connection to Detroit's gospel music community with Fred Hammond as one of the executive producers and Delores "Mom" Winans as one of the stars.
Dorinda Clark-Cole's ministry in the gospel music arena is internationally known, but she is also a powerful minister of the gospel even when there are no notes to be heard. She is one of those rare artists whose music ministry, personal walk with God, words, and actions all align to sustain a gospel music career that has both power and longevity. In a phrase, interviewing Dorinda, "blessed my socks off!"

Stellar Awards 2005

The 20th Annual Stellar Awards show took place on Saturday, January 15, 2005, in Houston, TX and Detroit Gospel.com was on the scene. Three of our staff, Renee', Karen Hunt-Barker, and Brenda Underwood, left for Houston the morning of the 13th and their flight was just the beginning of a gospel star-studded weekend. Flying with them to Houston were none other than J. Moss and Paul D. Allen (of P.A.J.A.M.), Lowell Pye from Men of Standard, and Black Gospel Promo's Veda Brown.

Producer, composer, singer, engineer, and musician (not to mention a great dancer), J. Moss, released his long awaited album, "The J. Moss Project," on October 12, 2004. Singles "I Wanna Be" and "We Must Praise" are already leaping up the charts and illustrate the diversity of this multi-talented gospel artist.
